Sunday...

Today was a great day! My wife has her sister in town, so they did a few things while I stayed at home. Layla had a full day off of work so she enjoyed her R & R!!!

The photos I am going to post are: Layla coming out of Zoey's cage!!! Layla hasn't been in a cage, since as long as I can remember, but for some reason she wanted to chill out in Zoey's cage...And,
I am also going to include a few pictures of my grandaughter, Paisley, playing with Zoey.  Zoey is by no means what-so-ever a service dog, I really don't know if the training would work on her...Anyway, my grandchildren can do absolutely anything to Zoey and she will not mind at all.  When Zoey is laying down, Paisley will sit on her back, and all Zoey does is wag her tail more because she is getting attention!  She is the best dog ever with young kids!!!

If there are any photos that anyone would like to see, or any questions that anyone might have, please leave a comment or email me at tonyschumacher@gmail.com.

-Thanks!

More puppy pictures of Layla

Here are more pictures of Layla when she was a puppy.

My wife was going through photos, and came across these, so I thought I would share them.  I cannot believe how little she was when we received her, she has grown up so much!

Layla - November 9, 2016

Here are a few photos of when Layla was a puppy.  She was always looking out for me, it seemed.  In fact, she was so in tune with some of my issues that it was my daughter, Tiffany, that suggested that we look into service dog training for her!  I am so very happy that she suggested that, because if she hadn't I do not believe I would have ever thought of it myself!

Layla watching the 4th of July fireworks

We had to attend the Estrella Mountain Ranch 4th of July Fireworks.  Layla was really good, and as long as one of us had a hand on her, she was not scared at all!  I believe that she knew that she was in good hands and that we would not let anything bad happen to her!

Taking a nap with her sister

This is Layla and Zoey

Layla and Zoey napping together in the Arizona Room, at home.  They are close in age and most of the time act like sisters, however Layla is very motherly to Zoey as well!  They are BEST FRIENDS!

Layla's Boots

This is right after I put Layla's boots on, before going to the pool.  She has been wearing the boots since it starting getting warm out, so this was not the first time, or even close to.  Anyway, I thought that this was a really funny photo to share!

On kind of a side note, a few months back, we looked at Layla's boots and noticed the different wear on each boot.  We decided to mark each boot with the corresponding paw, and she seems to not mind wearing them near as much as she did.

Layla's hair style after getting wet

This is Layla's newest hair style after getting her fur wet

Not much more to say, but isn't she adorable?

Layla at the pool, at the Wigwam

Watching over the whole family

Layla decided to lay on one of the lounge chairs to get a good view of the entire family, while we were swimming.  Tiffany and Riley were closest to the edge, and I think Layla was keeping a better eye on my newborn granddaughter Riley, than anyone else!
 (I'm so proud of her!!!)

Paisley walking Layla, after going out for dinner

As the family knows, Paisley LOVES all of our dogs.  When we went out for my "birthday" dinner, Paisley wanted to walk Layla to the Jeep.  Layla loves walking with Paisley, and listens so very good to her (Even though Paisley only speaks a few words, and mostly repeats what we say, Layla just knows what Paisley wants her to do)!

[Even though we were outside of the restaurant, and I was next to Layla, I did give Layla the command that she was "off-duty" since Paisley had her leash.]

Layla Watching Volleyball

Layla watching Natalie play volleyball

This past year, Layla went to almost all of Natalie's volleyball games.  There was one location that really did not want to let us in, because I guess they thought I didn't need a service dog, or she wasn't one.  Either way, they finally let us in, and she sat without being noticed.  All year, balls were coming within inches of her head, and once a ball touched her, and she will not move.

Whenever she saw Natalie, her ears did pop up and she was always so excited to see her play!  (I think that Layla just wanted to go play with her, as they do at the house!)

Layla Working...Blocking

Layla at Work
Layla knows that nobody should try to "sneak up on me", or get too close to me.  She will put herself between me and anyone else, so that nobody can get too close.  Here she is looking at someone that was getting ready to check out behind me, and telling them to just wait a minute.  It is so hard to believe everything that a working dog will do for their partner!

Layla laying on the fire wood

Layla thought that she had to jump up on the firewood on the side of the yard....ok, I may have asked her to,  but the laying down, and her being so good was all on her.  This was taken about half way through her service dog training.  She is a COMPLETELY different dog when she has her vest on, or when you tell her that she is working.  When she is not working, or without the vest, she acts like a typical dog. It is the craziest thing ever!
